AYUB D. P. JUNUS, born 1964 in Manado (North Sulawesi - Indonesia) where he spent his childhood until studying at University of Sam Ratulangi.
He completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Port and Shipping Administration from Cardiff University (UK) in 1988 then continued to University of Plymouth (UK) and graduated with Master of Science degree in International Shipping in 1990.
He has professional qualifications in logistics & transport and export which led to membership of UK’ Professional Bodies namely, The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport and The Institute of Export.
His work experiences and leadership skills are evidenced by previously and currently working with foreign and local businesses, government-related and professional organisations in Indonesia at the country management and directorship levels.
He owns businesses in maritime-related sector under the corporate holding of PT. Junus Internasional, a company based in Jakarta.
The highest entrustment he has is the appointment as Head of the Honorary Consulate Office of the Republic of Latvia in Indonesia as Honorary Consul as from 10th December 2007.
His other appointments to include as Representative of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) for Indonesia ; Founder & Vice Chairman of European-Asian Chamber of Commerce (EACC) ; Chairman of the Association of Honorary Consuls to Indonesia (AHCI) ; Vice Chairman of East Asian Regional Committee of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) ; and Secretary General of Kerukunan Keluarga Kawanua (KKK).
On 30 June 2016, the Latvian Foreign Ministry’s State Secretary, Andrejs Pildegovičs, presented the Foreign Minister’s Certificate of Merit to the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Indonesia, Ayub Junus for his significant contribution to facilitate political and economic cooperation between Latvia and Indonesia as well as providing substantial consular support for Latvian nationals and the strengthening the presence of the Republic of Latvia in Indonesia.
As of 2nd July 2018, Ayub Junus' role is increased and appointed as Honorary Consul General.
