Welcome to the official website of the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Latvia in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Honorary Consulate General serves as a key platform for promoting and strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Indonesia, including cooperation in diplomatic, economic, cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges.

Although the office of the Honorary Consulate General is based in Jakarta, its consular jurisdiction and representative mandate cover the entire territory of Indonesia.

Our Mandate and Role

In accordance with the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the Honorary Consulate General represents and safeguards the interests of the Republic of Latvia in Indonesia.

In the absence of a resident Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Indonesia, the Honorary Consulate General serves as the primary point of contact for bilateral engagement, coordination, and consular representation. The Consulate works in close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, relevant Indonesian authorities, and international partners.

What We Do

The Honorary Consulate General supports and facilitates cooperation between Latvia and Indonesia in the following areas:

• Support and facilitation of bilateral relations
• Trade, investment, and economic cooperation
• Cultural and educational exchange
• Support and assistance for Latvian nationals in Indonesia
• Information and guidance on consular and legal matters

While the Honorary Consulate General does not function as a full embassy, it plays an important role in coordination, facilitation, and representation, particularly in areas related to bilateral cooperation and citizen support.

Honorary Consul-General

The Honorary Consulate General is headed by Mr Ayub Dwi Pranata Junus, who has represented the Republic of Latvia in Indonesia since 2007, initially as Honorary Consul and, since July 2018, as Honorary Consul-General.

With extensive experience in international business, logistics, maritime services, and global mobility, the Honorary Consul-General actively contributes to strengthening cooperation between Latvia and Indonesia across government, business, academic, and community sectors.
